Wipe dust from furniture and other furnishing. This is so that the dirt from this objects can be picked up by the vacuum cleaner as well.

Prepare your tools. Make sure that before you start in any room, you already have your necessary vacuum cleaner attachments for drapes, uphholstery, etc. This will save you time from getting these when you need them.

Clean from top to bottom of your house. Start with the attic, then the upper rooms before you tackle the downstairs area and then your basment if you must.

When vacuuming a room, start at the farthest corner and work your way out of the door. This makes sure that you don’t leave dirt and unsightly footprints. Don’t forget to lift light furniture and vacuum underneath.
