How to Plan a Budget-Friendly and Healthy Meal

April 28, 2010 | In: Cooking, Health, Nutrition

Eating healthy need not be a bust to the budget. Here are some ways on how you can keep your diet without breaking the bank:

Instead of eating out, why don’t you cook your own food? This way, you’ll be able to control what you eat and at the same time no one is going to charge you extra. You just pay for what you eat.

Planning ensures that you have control over your money. Be sure to take some time to plan a week’s worth of meals (or a one-week menu). Write down the ingredients you’ll need. You will base your grocery list here. If you stick to your list, you won’t end up buying unnecessary things.

Fruits and vegetables in season are cheaper than when they’re not. Buy a lot more of these and less meat. Not only will you be able to save money, you’ll eat more healthy.
