Planning the Office Christmas Party
Is the pressure on you this year to deliver the best ever office Christmas party? This is the one time of the year when everybody gets to let their hair down, and you don’t want to disappoint, do you? Here are some tips and considerations to help you out:
Planning the Christmas party should be done months in advance. This will make it sure that everyone has enough preparation, especially if there are contests to be held in such. Setting a date first will also help set task schedules.
Next, find out what the budget is. This will set the limitations of the party especially on the venue and on the food. Will the company pay for everything? Will it be half-half with the employees? Or will everybody have to pay?
The cheapest option for the venue is to hold the party in the office. This is best if budget is really tight. However, people might want to have a change of environment, especially if they’re already laboring inside the office 5 days a week. In this case, an outside venue may be the better option. Just make sure that the off-site location is convenient to get to, large enough to accommodate everyone, and security is tight.
Food and drinks are of course, a priority. Make sure that whatever you decide on, whether to use a catering service or go potluck, is that you have enough to feed everyone.
Games, dancing, and other forms of entertainment can all be simple or elaborate. It is best to prepare a short program and then let people mingle and enjoy themselves the rest of the evening.
