Play Guitar Hero
Game consoles have indeed gone far since there were introduced in the market. Perhaps, it can be said that they’ve gained their peak popularity at this time what with the numerous types of gaming consoles available now worldwide. Home entertainment has indeed improved so much because of these devices.
Car racing and war games have been dominating the gaming scene for years now but thanks to some inventive minds, dancing and music playing have been introduced to provide more variety and to cater to the music loving people. A popular music video game is the Guitar Hero.
Guitar Hero 3 can be played on Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 2 and 3. First released in 2005, this video game does not make use of a gamepad unlike the traditional game consoles. Instead, it features a real guitar but only with fret buttons and a strum bar without the strings. The game was actually patterned after the arcade game GuitarFreaks by Konami which unfortunately, was unheard of in North America.
It’s easy to play this video game. First, hold the guitar like you would a genuine one. If you’re right handed, hold the body with your right with your fingers on the pick or plectrum (strum bar) while your left should be holding the neck with the fingers positioned on each of the five fret buttons. Just change the position if you’re left handed.
As you see the menu screen, strum up and down on the pick and then select by pressing green on the fret buttons. The red button is for going back or cancelling your selection.
During the game, your target is to hit the right note as it moves across the screen. The correct way to play a note is to press the right color and at the same time strumming the pick while the note crosses the lower part of the screen. You need to match the color of the note that appears on the screen to the fret button that you press. Timing is key here.
The right way of strumming is by making upward and downward strokes just like you would a real guitar. In this way, you will be able to catch notes that are so close together.
This game has four levels – easy, medium, hard and expert. The easy part requires only three fret buttons, the medium requires the use of four while the difficult and expert levels required all five buttons.
Of course, there’s a way to practice your guitar playing to make sure you master the song and get a perfect score. Use the practice mode which even allows you to reduce the speed of the tempo so that you can get every note right.
The Guitar Hero music video game has already been made into a series. Since the original release in 2005, there are now several versions such as the Guitar Hero 2 released in 2006, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s released in 2007, Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock released in late 2007, Guitar Hero 4 also known as the Guitar Hero World Tour released in 2008.
