Preparing an Emergency Winter Car Kit
There is nothing better than being prepared. In this post, we’ll show you how to pack an emergency winter kit which you can place in your car:
The first thing we need to do is to get a good box for your emergency kit. A tool box (old or new, it doesn’t matter) is preferable. However, any other box which can hold all the items you will need will do. Make sure that it can withstand very cold temperature.
Include non perishable food (nuts, energy bars, biscuits, etc.), some hard candy, and at least two bottles of drinking water. These will make sure you’ll survive without going hungry even for just a few hours.
A small foldable shovel if you get stuck. You will need a flashlight and some extra batteries in case you have an emergency at night. You will need a sturdy rope for varied purposes.
A blanket to keep you warm especially if you need to turn off the heater of your car. You will also need a red flag or a red fabric which you can place or tie to your car or near your car to attract the attention of would-be rescuers. Don’t forget battery cables.
If you have a full-sized shovel, you can place it in the trunk of your car. You will still need the foldable shovel too just in case you wont be able to open the trunk of your car.
Place your winter survival kit inside the car itself so you wont have to get out to get it from your trunk.
