HamperDry Cleaning Preparation

Cleaning stains off clothes can sometimes be problematic so the service of professional cleaners are needed to take care of them. To make sure that you help them know how to take care of your clothes better (or not ruin them), here are some things you need to do before sending them off to the dry cleaners:

Fabrics that usually need dry cleaning are silk, rayon, linen, and wool. Do not attempt to get tough stains out if you don’t know what you are doing. Having them dry cleaned will have less risk of ruining them.

Do not wash, dry, and iron items if you are going to send them to the dry cleaners. These will only help set the stain on the fabric, making it more difficult to get them out.

Do not remove care tags or labels on garments. Your dry cleaner will check these so if they can’t find them, it will take them more time to find out how to properly clean your clothes.

Write a note and pin it on the article of clothing. Put the cause of the stain and how long it has been sitting there. Notify them of pre-existing tears and damage.

Don’t forget to empty pockets for coins, candy wrappers, make-up, and other little things you might have in there.
