Here are some tipz on how to start on a job cleaning and preparing apartments for rental:

Be sure that you know the tricks of the trade. Learn if you must. No use of getting into this job if you do not know which end the broom you need for cleaning.

Once you’ve got that down. Have a business card printed. It should be clean with a business name that is easy to remember so it must be catchy. Determine how far you are willing to travel for a job. Make a search online of agencies and apartment building within a 5 to 20 mile radius. Try delivering them to real estate agencies and also in local business (be sure to ask permission first) in those areas. You can also try home construction sites so you can do the final cleaning touches for them. If you wish, you can also add willingness to clean common areas (lobbies, stairways, on-site laundry rooms, entryways, bathrooms, manager’s office, etc.).

If you are going for an interview, make sure that you dress business-like. Be neat and clean as cleaning is your business. Don’t forget to bring any references you might have and your proof of business insurance. Prepare a typed out or printed sheet of “cleaning packages.” Explain what you will do and how much you charge for them. Whether you get the job, it is always polite to send a thank you note after every interview. If you don’t get the job, ask to have them keep your card for future references.

Understand the contract before signing.

And last but not the least, do your best in your job! Word does get around and if it says that you are honest, professional, and have impeccable results, you’ll get more jobs.
