How to Prevent Dry Scalp
June 23, 2010 | In: Beauty and Grooming

Scalp can become dry by heat – whether natural or from styling tools such as a hairdryer, or a curling iron. Scalp can also become dry if one uses harsh hair products such as shampoo, styling gel, etc. Here are some natural remedies for dry scalp.
Use hair products that are based on natural ones such as coconut, milk, and tea tree oil. You can also use shampoo and conditioner that are mild.
Treat your hair and scalp to a hot oil treatment. Appy any natural oil such as coconut. Heat a damp towel and wrap it around your hair. You can also heat the oil in a microwave, wait until it’s cool enough to apply to your hair. Massage hair and scalp thoroughly. Wear a shower cap, or wrap your hair with a heated towel and leave on for 15-25 minutes. Shampoo thoroughly and rinse well.
You can also make a hair treatment which you can massage to your hair and scalp. You can do this by mixing 2 cups of water and about 6 tablespoons of dried thyme. Let the herb steep and then strain. Use the water to wet your hair. Leave for half an hour before rinsing.
