How to Prevent Dry Skin

A little curious about why your skin keeps on getting dry? Well, here might be some reasons why:
You love caffeine, smoking, and alcohol.
These substances (caffeine, smokes, and alcohol) act as diuretics which elevates the rate of urination. The more you need to do number one without replenishing by drinking water, the more dehydrated you become.
You hate water.
Unless you split and divide into two monsters when you get wet, there is no reason why you should keep yourself from increasing your water level. Drink up (or drink more of you are super active) and keep your body hydrated.
You take a lot of hot water baths or showers.
Yes, they feel good, but they also dry out the skin. If you can’t help it, add a tablespoon of oil (almond, jojoba, olive or hazelnut) to your bath water after you’ve soaked for five minutes. The oil will seal absorbed moisture.
You do not protect your skin from the elements.
Wind, sun, heat, cold, and dry office and airplane air all cause or worsen skin drying. Apply sunblock and moisturizer to exposed skin to keep it refreshed and hydrated.
You do not eat enough omega-3 fatty acids.
Eat cold-water fish, walnuts, and other food rich in omega-3 as they help replace moisture in dry hair and skin. You can also take them in capsule-form.
You use harsh cleansers.
Use only gentle cleansers and avoid those with harsh abrasives. Instead, try out a moisturizing soap, soap-free product, or a gentle, grain-based cleanser.
