How to Properly Load the Dishwasher

July 27, 2010 | In: Cleaning

It’s quite easy to load a dishwasher. There are dishes that shouldn’t be washed in the dishwasher. To determine which, simply look for the label at the back of your flatware, or glassware. It should say that it’s dishwasher safe.

Examples of dishes that shouldn’t be put inside a dishwasher are hand-painted dishes and china, and stainless steel and silverware. Better to wash these items by hand.

The topmost rack should have glasses and cups. Place them on the rack tines. Beside these, you can put long knives and other long cutlery and serving utensils. Use the utensil caddy for knives, and other cutlery.

Place bowls and plates on the bottom rack, making sure that the bowls are facing down. With the plates and bowls, you can also inclue pots and pans. Make sure they face the center as well.
