Storing a Wedding Dress
If you decide to buy or have your own wedding dress made, then it would only be proper to make sure that it is preserved nicely and properly. Who knows, your daughter may want to wear it on her own special day too!
Although you or your spouse might be tempted to rip the wedding dress off on your wedding night, have the presence of mind to change into something more appropriate. Take your wedding dress off carefully and hang it neatly. You can get back to it later.
Have your dress professionally cleaned to make sure that the sweat and dirt gets off before storing it. Make sure that the dry cleaning company specializes in wedding gowns, better if they can give you a guarantee. Inspect the gown before you have it wrapped.
The gown should be wrapped in acid free tissue before carefully placed in a box. Store the box in your closet where it is dry and away from sunlight. Never have the gown stored in plastic.
