Formulate a budget and a new car payment scheme. It is wise to get a car whose monthly payment should not exceed 20% of your take-home pay.

Take down notes. Write what you need in a car. Consider the size of the car – would you need cargo space? How many passengers would you be loading? Consider how far you intend to drive the car and where?

Once you know what you need you can now look for more exact details – manual or automatic transition, seats, color of the car, model or make of the car.

You can now do some research. Ask friends, relatives. You can also ask mechanics about their opinions. Browse through automotive magazines and car delear brochures. You can go online and read reviews. Use your checklist and see that all your requirement are met.
