Aren’t we all tired of watching great YouTube clips only to scroll down and get to see thousands of asinine comments which are almost always totally unrelated to the clip..
And how about those hateful sexist and racist comments? Worried that your kid might pick up something nasty from those? Well here’s one way to moderate harmful words from the comments.
For this, you need to be using Mozilla Firefox as your browser since we’ll be using the YouTube Comment Snob add-on. If you still are running on another browser, you can get Firefox here (http://www.mozilla.com/).
Next, you need to get the add-on. Here’s the YouTube Comment Snob (https://addons.mozilla.org€n-US/firefox/addon/7115) page from Mozilla Add-ons site. Just click on the “Download Now” button and the installation should be pretty much automatic. Add-on installations would ask you to restart Firefox.
Once installed, the add-on would automatically police the comments for spam and profanity. It even has a grammar Nazi feature where it automatically screens comments which do not follow conventional typography (ALL CAPS, small caps, Uncapilized first letters…)
Check out how it works on the President’s YouTube page:

You can fine tune how it works by adjusting the options.
