Repairing Concrete
Concrete can have cracks due to moisture. Earth movement can also be a culprit. If you decide to repair concrete on your own, these are the things you would have to prepare:
- wire brush
- concrete caulk
- concrete patch product
- sealant
First thing you’ll have to do is to clean out the cracks – be it small or large. Use a wire brush to get rid of debris. You can also use a strong spray of water. If you use water, make sure that you dry the cracks completely before you go on to the next step.
Get the caulk ready. Make sure that what you have is caulk for concrete. Fill the small cracks, which should be those less than 1/8 of an inch, with caulk.
For larger cracks or holes, you can use patching products. Again, make sure they are designed for concrete.
When you’re done applying the caulk, apply sealant or paint to the concrete.
