There are lots of ways to save money. One of them is to keep a low gas consumption and the way to do that is to use gas more efficiently. Here are some tipz on how to do exactly that:

Clean up your trunk and remove all excessive weight. Unnecessary weight will just reduce gas mileage. If you are travelling, pack light and make sure that everything can fit into the trunk or interior of the car. Use luggage carriers only if you really, really need it. They reduce gas mileage by five percent because of the added weight and the aerodynamic drag.

Speeding, rapid acceleration and frequent breaking can reduce gas mileage by 33% on highways. Avoid aggressive driving. So obey the posted speed limit and be calm.

Turn off the engine if you are going to sit waiting in your car.

Make sure that your car is in tiptop shape. Poorly inflated tires reduce gas mileage and so do clogged air filters. Always get regular tune-ups, and use the proper grade of motor oil. You may also try “energy conserving” oil, just make sure that they are apt for your vehicle.

Schedule your errands so you minimize your trips. If you’re going to do your grocery shopping in one part of the city, try to run other errands that you can do in the same area.

Round up a few co-workers, or colleagues who can carpool with you. You can take turns with the driving.

Walk whenever possible or if your city has an excellent transport system, then use public transport.
