Saving Money on Meals
Take your own lunch. Instead of spending money in the office cafeteria or eating out in various restaurants, you can save money by brown bagging sandwiches or fruit.
Eat at home more often. Cooking and eating at home will save you the extra money that you will use to pay for gas or fare for public transportation. You also won’t be tempted to go to other stores when you see something interesting to buy.
If you can’t avoid going out for meals, instead of ordering drinks, ask for water instead. Instead of ordering an entree in a restaurant, you can try a huge-sized appetizer. At the end of the meal, try to avoid dessert.
Restaurants and delis offer specials in their daily menu. You can order those instead as most of them have lower prices than other items.
Fresh food stores and produce sections often lower their prices at the end of the day. If you are going to consume the food immediately, consider shopping during this time.
