How to Save Your Wedding Cake for Later
May 12, 2010 | In: Weddings

Some brides and grooms are sentimental and they want their wedding cake or at least part of it to be saved. Those who are able to do this succesfully are able to eat their wedding cake on their first anniversary.
To do this, simply purchase an airtight plastic container. Make sure that it seals tightly. To test, you can put water inside and turn the container upside down, if water doesn’t trip and you don’t see air bubbles coming in, then you’re ready.
Have someone instruct the catering staff to place the portion of the cake you wish to preserve to place this inside the container once the cake is cut. Make sure that the container is firmly covered. Refrigerate the cake immediately. Don’t forget to get it, or have someone get it before leaving.
Have someone take the cake out of the container to be wrapped in cling wrap before wrapping in foil. Place insife the freezer. Done!
