How to Say No To Kids Selling at Your Door
March 23, 2010 | In: Community, Personal Finance

You are not obliged to buy from all the kids knocking at your door and selling stuff. However, like any person, they should all be treated by respect. If you plan to turn down their wares, you still need to do so with consideration of their feelings:
Say what you would to an adult. Be polite and truthful. “I’m sorry. I know this is for a worthy cause but I have to say no.”
Get over the incident quickly. Don’t waste either of your time by letting the child convince you when you really have no plans of buying from them. Kids are tougher than they look.
If you really have to buy, make sure that you buy from children you know like those who belong to families in your neighborhood and keep the transaction short.
