Preparing Mother’s Day Brunch
Preparing a Mother’s Day brunch for our moms is a time-old tradition (not really, but it doesn’t really matter, does it?). And for this year’s Mother’s Day, we decided to give you some tipz on how to fix a Mother’s Day brunch!
First step is to relax. A flustered, exhausted, stressed out host will not make the event special. You would rather want to serve her brunch looking warm and happy, wouldn’t you?
Consider your resources. What can you actually achieve with the given time, space, and budget available to you? Breakfast in bed? A sit-down brunch? Would it be okay to leave you alone in the kicthen or would it be better if someone else will bet there just to make sure you don’t put cornstarch instead of flour in the pancake batter? If the weather is nice, maybe breakfast in the garden would be nice.
Think of your menu. Make sure that you know how to prepare it and that you have ample time to cook everything as well. If you’re not exactly confident in your cooking abilities, you can always heat pre-prepared meals. Or opt for something that you wouldn’t have to cook – like bagels or muffins you bought from the local bakery, fresh fruits and juice, etc. Be creative.
Put a special touch to it. Place a card, a rose, or even a wild flower picked from the garden beside her plate or splace it in the tray.
Lastly, just be yourself. Your mother would surely appreciate all the “trouble.” She’d still love you even if you burnt the toast. After all, she is your mother.
