Sleeping Schedule for Baby
It is not impossible to set a routine or a schedule for your baby. Well, it is not as strict as it sounds. But babies do have a patterns for sleeping, or eating, or if they need diaper changes, though it may seem unlikely at first.
Observe your baby for the first couple of weeks. Note down the hour every time they sleep or eat or do number two. You’ll find out that your kid has natural patterns. You can use this information to schedule particular activities.
If you know that your baby is likely to fall asleep at a particular hour, make sure that you set the tone for resting. Make sure that your baby is in the same room where he always sleeps, with the same blanket and pillow. This will give him a sense of security with familiar scents and feel around him. Dim the lights, even if it’s in the middle of the day. Make sure that the whole house is quiet and settled.
Children have different ways of being soothed. You just have to be observant enough to find out what it is for your baby. It may be being sung to or it may be being rocked to sleep. Again, observe so just in case baby becomes fussy, you’ll know exactly what to do.
Patience is a virtue. And parents should have this as their mantra when it comes to babies. Yes, it can be very frustrating when children suddenly does something out of “schedule.” Of course, you should also remember to be flexible as there would be times that your baby’s schedule maybe disrupted if they are not feeling well or the likes.
