Want to keep your leather jacket still looking as badass as it was on the day you bought it? Here are some tips on how to store leather jackets without ruining their look:

On one hand, as all leather, keep your jacket away from moisture as it causes mildew. While on the other hand, too much dryness will make the leather crack. So what do you do? Choose a closet where you can hang it on a sturdy hanger which will prevent it from sagging and stretching so it can hold its proper shape. Make sure that the spot is away from sunlight and devoid of moisture and heat. Make sure that you don’t wrap your jacket in nonporous materials such as plastic so it can breathe.

Maintain your jacket well. If you want to condition it, use a conditioner that is made especially for leather. Make sure that you use products that will let your jacket breathe so avoid using wax and oils. Make sure that you don’t over-expose it to other chemicals such as hairspray and cologne.

If the jacket gets dirty, clean it with a lint-free micro fiver cloth and wipe it going along the natural grain of the leather. Never dry a wet leather jacket under the sun or near heat sources. Just hang it and let it dry naturally. For more stubborn stains, get your jacket to an expert.
