Storing Clothes
Sometimes it’s best to put off season clothes in storage to make sure your closets stay cluttered free throughout the year. Here are some tipz on how to properly store clothes so that they keep clean and damage-free until you need them again:
Invest in proper boxes. There are airtight, sturdy, waterproof, plastic storage ware that you can buy. If you’re going to use them for years, the money you will spend on them will be worth it. Get labels and tape handy as well.
Go through your entire wardrobe and categorize according to season. Place all tops together, same with sweaters, jackets, etc. Fold neatly and carefully. For jackets and coats, it’s always best to hang them in your closet. You can allot a space for off-season clothes.
Look for stains. Put these clothes aside to be cleaned or dry cleaned. Look for tears and damages as well. Put these aside as well for mending. It’s always best to store clean and damage-free clothes to avoid bacteria and further damage.
Clean the area where you will store the clothes. Make sure that it is dry and out of direct sunlight.
