How to Teach Children Colors
August 23, 2010 | In: Education

There are so many ways how to teach young children about colors.
One technique is by word association. You can point an object to your child. Say the object and then the color. For example, “Chair. It’s color blue!”. Make sure you repeat the color in other objects. This will re-enforce the learning.
You can also use picture books to re-enforce the learning. You can ask your child to point out the objects that are colored blue in one page.
Another way is to do this when you’re traveling or when you’re doing some grocery shopping. You can point out colors and you can ask your kids questions about colors as well.
Games are fun as well ad educational. You can have a contest on how many objects that are colored “red” (for example) you can name when you go out.
