How to Teach Kids Public Safety
August 9, 2010 | In: Parenting

Have less to worry when you bring your kids outside. Make sure that you train them on how to behave themselves, and most importantly, how to stay safe. You should also train them in situations when there is an emergency.
Have older kids memorize your phone number, their address, and the phone number of another relative. For younger kids, you can at least make them know your full name.
Teach your children about staying close to you and to hold your hand, especially in a very crowded place. Kids actually follow rules, especially if you re-enforce them with no exception. This is because, it’s normal for them to behave like so.
Make your children be aware of stranges and the type of strangers (both good and bad). Tell them not to go with strangers, no matter what happens. Tell your children to stay put if they get lost and you will be able to find them easily that way.
