How to Tip in a Salon

June 17, 2010 | In: Beauty and Grooming, General

Yes, there is such a thing as a correct way to tipping your favorite stylist or masseuse. Here is how:

The amount to tip should be based on the total amount of service fee before tax has been added. Tip should be 15 to 20 percent of this amount. You can also base your tip (whether to tip 15 or 20 percent or even more) according to the service you’ve been given. If it’s really good, you can tip the higher range.

Break your tip if there are more than one service provider. This is true especially in a salon where there is one person who washes your hair, and the stylist. Give more to the stylist.

Most spas and salons provide envelops for tips at the reception area. You can do this or you can directly give the tip.
