Washing Bloodstains Off White Fabric
Yikes! Bloodstain on white fabric? Don’t fret. Just follow these easy laundry tips to make that fabric pristine white in no time.
Like doing regular laundry, always check the label of the garment or fabric before washing. Verify if it can be washed or if it should be dry cleaned.
If the fabric is washable, simple soak the stained area in cold water and laundry detergent. If the bloodstain is fresh, you can also soak in in a solution of a cup of water and half a cup of salt. Let it sit until most of the stain has dissolved in the water and detergent or salt solution. Rub gently or brush off tougher stains.
If the fabric is only for dry cleaning, make a note for your dry cleaner on how long the bloodstain has settled on the fabric so they’ll know what material to use.
You may also try to use hydrogen peroxide for small bloodstains.
Wash and dry clothes as usual.
