Writing Overnight Term Paper
Writing a term paper overnight is a definite no-no. But then again, at some point in your college life, an overnight term paper is something you’ll have to go through. Here are some pointers on how to make a decent overnight term paper. Use wisely.
The first thing you should do is to calm down. Take deep breaths. No use panicking. Won’t do you any good at this point.
Review the paper’s requirements. Read the whole thing twice. This will give you a good idea of what you’re supposed to write. It will also limit the scope and parameters of your research. This is good because this means you won’t waste time doing research on irrelevant topics.
Choose a topic. Gather your thoughts. Create an outline. You do know what an outline is, do you? The most basic is:
- Intro
- Body
- Conclusion
On to the library for some fast research. Use the library website. If you’re pouring through books, it’s best to look at the table of contents and index pages first. If what you’re looking for are not in them, ditch the book and start on another. Always refer to your outline when looking for information.
Now it’s time to organize the information you have. Again, refer to your outline. Write in bullet points first. This will make it easier when you do the actual writing of your paper.
Write your paper. This time, don’t skimp on the details. Make it good. Refer to the requirements to make sure that you are doing everything correctly (number of pages, font size, format, etc.). Don’t forget to cite sources.
Proofread. Check for typo, grammar and spelling errors, and even factual errors. Do this before printing. Your paper maybe rushed, but your professor won’t have to know about it.
