Job Interview: What to Ask the Interviewer

March 16, 2010 | In: Career

In job interviews, it is not just the interviewer who is allowed to ask questions, even the applicant has the right to ask.

Ask about the position you are applying for. If the job title is vague and the job description is confusing, make sure that you ask this out right. Make sure that you get a general idea of the tasks that you might be doing.

Ask about the work hours. Clarify if there is shifting schedule, if flexible time can also applied. If your circumstances cannot allow you to have a shifting schedule, (for example, you are a single working parent), it would be better to have this clarified from the beginning.

Ask about benefits and compensation package. Be careful when you ask this though.

Salary is always a delicate topic to broach. This should be put off until the final interview. You can however verify if you can avail of the common benefits such as leaves, allowances, and health benefits.
