Improve digestion by using dog feeders
When eating off the floor, dogs are forced to "gulp" their food, which results in an increased amount of swallowed air. This often results in an uncomfortable range of digestive issues - it could be something minor like gas, or something more serious like bloat (which can be fatal in extreme cases). When the food bowls are raised above the floor, your dog won't have to bend as much. This will reduce air intake and make the food easier to digest. Another advantage to using an elevated feeder instead of standard dog bowls is a comfort issue. Dogs with conditions such as sore joints, stiff muscles, and hip dysplasia are often in pain when bending over. Raising the bowls with a feeder can alleviate this concern.

Give your dog a bed
If you don't allow your dog to sleep on your own bed or furniture around the house, you really need to provide him with a comfortable dog bed. Not only will a dog bed reduce the shedded hair you'd have to clean off your furniture and carpets, but they will also give your dog an added sense of comfort and security by giving him his own spot in the house that he knows isn't shared with the rest of the family. Also, the padding will provide joint support and insulation that he won't get by napping on the floor

Keep your car clean with a special dog car seat cover
It's a pain in the neck to get dog hair out of your car. There are so many nooks and crevices that you have to bust out all the vacuum extensions to hit all the spots. It's worse if your upholstery is fabric, which tends to act as velcro to dog hair. You can get several styles of car seat covers that will aggregate all the unwanted hair, dirt, and mud onto the cover - which you can easily throw into the washing machine instead of spending 20 minutes with the vacuum cleaner.
 

How to show your dog you're the boss
Dogs like all pack animals follow a pack leader. In order to show your dog you are the pack leader, always perform the following. Always lead your dog in and out of rooms, doorways and when on a leash. Make sure your dog is behind you and cut off its path if they try to go around you. Never let your dog pull you when walking. If this is an issue, shorten your leash to 12 inches.

How to Change Your Dog's Behavior
If you ever watch an adult dog discipline a puppy you'll see them use their jaws to hold down the younger dog.   You can use the same behavior technique to change a dog's behavior.  Next time your dog is acting up lay them down on the ground and with gentle but firm pressure hold them down by the neck until they completely relax.  You are not doing this out of anger, but out of authority.. You are not hurting the dog, but simply doing the same thing an older dog would do without sharp teeth.

Wait a few minutes for the dog to relax and then release.  This process releases tension from the dog and makes them more relaxed.   It also affirms your status as pack leader which makes for a more relaxed dog as well.
