African
American hair care tips.
One of the biggest problems facing African American hair care issues is
breakage. Straightening irons, relaxants, hot irons, all create the ultimate
enemy to our hair. HEAT. One way I have found to combat this is shea butter. I
found a variety of products on the market that when alternated with your regular
shampoo and conditioner routine, work wonders. Using the pure unrefined shea
butter on the scalp and massaged thoroughly to the ends, helps provide a non
greasy alternative to treatments like coconut oil or olive oil. Those treatments
are messy and require washing and rinsing etc. You can leave in shea butter or
use one of the leave in conditioner alternatives. Shea butter has been found to
have healing properties and also works on hair follicles to regenerate and
repair. |
