Windows 7: How to Use Sticky Notes

November 20, 2009 | In: Computers

Windows 7 Sticky NotesAnother new feature of Windows 7 is Sticky Notes. This replaces the need for installing a third-party “Post-It” notes applications and even the old notes gadget that never really appealed to a number of Vista users. It’s a pretty straight-forward app to use. It might not have advanced features like what you can get with freeware like Stickies, but at least it already comes with Windows.

1. Launch Sticky Notes (via Start Menu)

2. This will automatically create a new note on which you can type your reminders. You can also use keyboard shortcuts for simple font styling like Ctrl+U for underline, Ctrl+B for bold and Ctrl+I for italics.

3. To create a new note, just click on the “+” sign and a new note will be generated.

4. To delete a note, just click on the “X’ sign at the upper right-hand corner.

5. You can also color-code your notes by changing the background colors. Just right-click on the note and select the background color that you want.
