Windows 7: How to View Computer Information
October 23, 2009 | In: Computers
If you’re a Windows Vista user, transitioning to the Windows 7 user experience would be pretty seamless. By now, you’re well-acquainted with Aero and most of the bits are intuitive. To some extent, 7 is a better and faster Vista but I’m sure Microsoft would like to shy away from that.
Anyway, here’s a quick tip on how to check out your computer’s basic information (System Properties for those who have been with Microsoft for some time). There are various ways to go about this.
1. Click on the Start orb
2. Click on Computer
3. In the toolbar, click System properties
Or
1. Hit Start key
2. Type “System” in the Start search bar
3. Select “System”
Or
1. Click the Start orb
2. Right-click on Computer
3. Select Properties

The screen basically is almost an exact replica of the old Vista screen only you’d definitely have “Windows 7″) as Windows edition, “Memory (RAM)” is now referred to as “Installed memory (RAM)” and an additional item is a “Pen and Touch” segment indicating if you have touch screen devices installed to your system. You can still see the Product ID there and an option to change the product key. Oh, and the security shield’s of a different color too.
